  • Played its first Twenty20 International against Australia at Southampton in June 2005, winning by 100 runs.
  • Finished fourth in its group in the second round of ICC WT20 2007.
  • Since losing in the ICC CWC 1992 Final, England’s men have only appeared in one semi-final of an ICC event: ICC Champions Trophy 2004, where it went on to lose in the final to West Indies.
  • Finished fifth in the Super Eight table at ICC CWC 2007.
  • By hosting this tournament, England becomes the first country to host the ICC CWC, ICC Champions Trophy, ICC WT20 and Women’s World Cup.
  • Has played six Twenty20 Internationals at home, winning three and losing three. Was the first country to stage a domestic Twenty20 competition, in 2003.
  • Middlesex won the 2008 Twenty20 Cup in England, beating Kent by three runs in the final at Southampton.
